These tunes are taken from Chansons et Danses D'Amerique Latine, a collection of Latin American folk music arranged by the French guitarist, Yvon Rivoal. This selection comprises Nesta Rua ('On This Street') from Brazil, followed by Mi Linda Mariquita ('My Pretty Ladybird'), La Llorona ('The Weeping Woman') and Las Gaviotas ('The Seagulls'),

The first of these two contrasting guitar duets with a Brazilian theme is the contemplative piece Agua e Vihno written in 1972 by the Brazilian composer, guitarist and pianist Egberto Gismonti and arranged by Byron Fogo. This is followed by the more upbeat Morenita do Brazil by the Italian composer Giuseppe Farrauto who was born in Palermo in 1915.
